Your Complete Guide to Crafting Your Own Personal Brand: Everything You Need to Know

Aioli everyone, we hope you have all been well, this week, we want to share with you all how we went about crafting and establishing our personal brand walkwithwilz, in this blog we will share with you all, our considerations in establishing our brand, developing a brand style guide complete with logo and how creating our personal brand has helped us stand out from others online. But before we begin with all the glorious details, of course, we must include our weekly preface section.
Preface
As per our usual preface, this blog is written from the perspective of our own experiences in creating our own personal brand and image, but when it comes to creating your own, you are more than welcome to make your personal brand and images as uniquely you as possible, just take what we mention as considerations and suggestions, and we hope this blog helps, lets begin with the details under some helpful headings,
#1: What is in a Name?
Congratulations, you have decided to create a personal brand, but what is your brand name going to be? Ideally, you will want something that screams you in a nutshell, but at the same time, something that is equally stylish and sophisticated, it is a hard decision, but who do you want to be?
This is the hardest decision you will ever have to make for your brand, picking out the most perfect name to represent you and what you want your brand to represent, something that shows off your flare and creativity, your style and sense of being, nah no pressure whatsoever with this decision,
But whatever name you pick, you should feel proud of using it, it should give you a feeling of accomplishment and excitement, once you have a name picked out, that is your hardest battle won.
We came up with our personal brand name through a brainstorming activity, we liked the uniqueness of our nickname 'Wilz' but we wanted something catchy and creative to go along with it, and that is how 'walk with' came along, we loved that it was all W, and we love how it shows off how we express and come up with most of our ideas
#2: What is your style?
Once you have picked out a name, congratulations, the next step is refining your style and look, so creating a style guide, a lookbook, thinking about how you want your brand to be represented, so including colours, fonts and styles, and while you are at it, it is time to create a logo too.
Putting all these decisions together in one central location will help you down the track, when you want to create content for your brand, or if another person wants to help with the brand, they can use this information to build content too.
When it comes to picking out different fonts, styles and colours, be mindful of the emotions and feelings they can evoke, are these true to the way you want your brand represented? the same goes for your logo, think about the build of the shapes, colours and fonts, your logo should be a visual representation of your brand and your audience should know just from looking at it what they are in-store for and what your brand is all about.
#3: How to make your brand stand out?
You are almost there, once you have a name, logo and colour, it is time to take the brand live!
It is time to share on your socials, and on your website, create those connections with others in your industry, do all those fun things to get your name and your brand out there, and make yourself stand out by letting your personality shine, you already have all the tools at your disposal, so get out there and have fun.
Also at this stage, if you have a physical presence in your marketplace, you can create business cards and merchandise to share, it is all about getting creative and strategically sharing your name and your brand story where you can, you have so got this!
