Personal Blogz - Wilz taking on the Ks for RUOK


Halloumi, howdy Walkerz,


How are you? Thanks for stopping by and visiting,


As you can see from the title of the blog, Wilz is taking on Ks for the mental health charity RUOK, this challenge lasts for the whole month of July and encourages people to get outside and to be active,


If you are not familiar with the charity RUOK, you can visit their website https://www.ruok.org.au/ but essential they are a non for profit organisation that is raising awareness of mental health and encouraging people that if you notice or know someone who may be struggling with their mental health to strike up a friendly conversation and ask are you okay?


They work on the premise that just starting a conversation might help to save a life, if a person feels someone cares enough to check in on them and to be a friend they might feel more comfortable to speak out more and to seek help, it is always relieving to have that one friend we can confide in, well what if you can be that person for someone who is struggling, it could really help them out of a dark place, will you be that person for someone?


For myself, I feel so lucky, there is a lot of people out there that I feel comfortable enough with that if I ever feel like I am having a tough time or feeling a bit down I can turn to them, they make me feel safe, they won't judge and will listen to me with a open mind and a friendly ear,


But unfortunately I know not everyone is as lucky, I just want to put it out there that if any of you need someone to talk to, a friend, a friendly ear then your all more than welcome to get in touch with me, you can find all of my contact details on the contact page of this blog, I promise I will listen, I won't judge and try to help you the best I can, you have this promise from me Walkerz, if you need I can be there for you,

But on the flip side, how often do you hear this from people, just going out for a walk to clear my head, or just going out to grab some fresh air, well the K's of RUOK charity challenge works in well with this, you have the option, you can walk by yourself or even with family and friends but by racking up the kms, by walking and/or running and getting outside and active you can help support the charity, you can also get people to support you and the cause by calling in donations, it is a win win situation for one and all,

For the challenge, for month of July, I have challenged myself to 2 kms everyday, you can track my progress on my fundraising page, so by the end of July I will have walked 62 kms, for someone who isn't very active and wanting to get more active and healthy I thought this was a great way to push myself and to have my friends join me along the way, what do you think Walkerz, will you join us and rack up some Ks or will you be a charitable friend and donate, each bit we can do will help,
