Before we begin, let us preface this blog by sharing, that we are by no means trained chefs, we are just your average joes willing to giving it a go in the kitchen, this blog is just an idea we came up with as a means to celebrate the festive season, we welcome you to try these recipes or you can go onto the site and choose your own 5 to share and try, it is entirely up to you, but if you do decide to share let's go with the tag #FestiveTop5WomensWeeklyRecipes
#1 Ginger Bread - Gingerbread | Women's Weekly Food (womensweeklyfood.com.au)
For us, when we think Christmas, we simply can't go past Gingerbread, a slice served toasted with some melting butter on top, it is truly delicious for the festive season, it is definitely a recipe we had to include on the list, we are curious when you think of the festive season what is a food/recipe that comes to mind that would include on your share list?
#2 Gingerbread Biscuits - Gingerbread biscuits | Women's Weekly Food (womensweeklyfood.com.au)
We definitely couldn't do Christmas without the biscuit form of gingerbread, having cookies on hand to snack on and also to decorate is one of our fave family activities, there is nothing more fun than being able to decorate with different coloured icings, lollies and sweets, yum! It is definitely a fun way this festive season to make some sweet fun memories.
#3 Snickerdoodles - Snickerdoodles | Women's Weekly Food (womensweeklyfood.com.au)
We have only just started making these for the festive season the last couple of years but they definitely have been a crowd favourite, usually throughout the year, our family has fresh homemade doughnuts, and these feel like the festive cookie version of that, we love a good cinnamon moment, or as our fun grammar jokes goes, a good synonym moment.
#4 Pear and Raspberry Bread - Pear and raspberry bread | Women's Weekly Food (womensweeklyfood.com.au)
This recipe/bread has been a family favourite for as long as we can remember, the smell when it is freshly baked or heated up is just so moorish, like gingerbread served toasted with melted butter, it is utterly delicious, served with a cup of tea or coffee, yum!
Every time for Christmas we are always gifted store-bought shortbread, but how more delicious would it be if we could gift homemade shortbread, and with this recipe, we can do just that, we can butter up all our loved ones trying out some fun Women's Weekly festive recipes.
