"How to Create an Instagram Account to Effectively Organize Your Content"

Your Guide to organizing your Instagram Content, What You Should Consider to Effectively Organize Your Accounts Content?

Hands on phone taking photo

Aioli everyone, how are you all doing? After reflecting on our Instagram account, if you haven't seen us on there our username is @_walkwithwilz_, lately we feel like our account has become so filled with bird orientated content, and while we do love birds, that is not the purpose of our account, so to organize our content, we created a new account called @our_garden_flock.

Just to make things a bit clearer if you are confused, our main account for this website is @_walkwithwilz_ and we want that to be home to all our website content, but at the same time, we have created a new account called @our_garden_flock and that will be home all of our bird and animal content, we hope that makes sense, it is our way of organizing our content online.

But before you go running over to Instagram to create a new account to try and organize your content, we want to put some questions in the headings for you down below to consider, and once you're happy with your decision, you can decide what to do next?

#1: What is the aim of your account?

#2: What is the demographic of your page?

#3: Being Social

#4: External Links

#1: What is the aim of your account?

Before you go making any rash decisions, please take a moment to stop and think, what is the aim of my Instagram account?

Is it a personal account where I just want to stay in touch with family and friends, or is it a business account where you need build strong relationships with customers and other businesses? and more importantly does the content your posting reflect these ideals, if not then we have a problem,

Take for example our Instagram account, while our Instagram account was meant to be focused on the content we are creating here for and on the site, we felt our content was slipping into that of a bird lover account as a lot of our content was just birds and that was not fitting with our aim, so to separate the two, we have 2 now very different accounts, one where we can solely focus on the blog and the other for our feathered related content,

We are by no means saying you need to have a lot of separate accounts for each of your passions, just that you need to consider before posting to your page, if the content your posting relevant and if it's not, then can I post it elsewhere to be effective?

#2: What is the demographic of your page?

This follows on from the first question that was asked, but who do you think is the main audience of your page? How old are they and what time are they usually on your page? You can always find this information on your insights on your Instagram account.

Using this information, you could organize your content in ways that might work better for your page's exposure, for example, using our Instagram page for example, for us, our main demographic is women who visit our page in the afternoon and night, so we could organize our content to be posted during this time, to capture most of their attention.

But you could also tailor and organize content, in a way that you know will know they will enjoy and engage with. Using our Instagram page again as an example, since we know our demographic is women, we could post more feminine styled posts, using more feminine colours and products that appeal to them, it's really food for thought.

#3: Being Social

Your probably thinking, yes Wilz, that is the main idea of being on social media, is to be social with other people, but sometimes we think people really miss the point of it, you can use your social media such as Instagram account to organize your content to be social and engage with other people.

Using our own Instagram as an example again, we separated our bird content into another account, so on that account we can engage with people who like birds, and on our website account we can engage with people who might say don't like birds but enjoy our site.

But we encourage you all to be more social on social media, be sure to tell your favorite creators hi and why you like their content so much.

That is Wilz for now, take care, travel safely and let's keep walking on this journey called life, peace out.
