Personal Blogz - Wilz celebrates our national day, Happy Australia Day

Aioli Walkerz,

Happy Australia Day to 1 and all, we know this day might not be for all, but we still like to celebrate it with family and friends, while we don’t entirely agree how the nation was started we can still give thanks for all the beauty and treasures this nation has produced,

For Australia Day this year, we started the day with a chilled morning, I enjoyed an egg roll with some leek and capsicum and watched one of my favourite streamers on Twitch @Cooking_With_Conures https://www.twitch.tv/cooking_with_conures, after her stream, I got to chill in a bit with our good friend @ClemTheSnake's stream https://www.twitch.tv/clemthesnake, I am so proud of Clem, he recently just got affiliated so a lot of us pitched in and gifted him with some more subs, if you have the time Walkerz and you like gaming you should check out these two streamers, they are amazing,

After Twitch time, it was onto a bit of lunch, which was a bit of surf and turf, easy bake fish and chicken, and not long after that it was time to get ready to head to the neighbour's place for our annual neighbourhood cricket and celebrations, essentially all the neighbours on the street come together, we split into two even cricket teams and each person has a go and has a bowl and bat for two overs of 6 balls each, we score runs by just taping the ball and out if the bails come off the wickets,

Even though you may not know everyone on your team, it is a great way to break the mould and reach out to say hi, it makes it even better knowing they are local and you already have something in common you can start a conversation with them, it is many thanks to these cricket matches my family and I have met neighbours we wouldn't usually get to see much on a daily basis, but now we know most people's name and they are always there to lend a hand if you ever need any assistance,

After our game of cricket, we have some post-match celebrations with some fun team photos, the losing team is usually very gracious and we give cheers of celebration to the winning team, and then its time for some chill and we all just relax on the verandah with some drinks and nibbles, we usually use this time to catch up with everyone who has come out for the day and recall the fun memories of the day and how much we have improved on our cricket skills after a whole year away from the pitch, around 5 pm the BBQ is fired up and dinner is on, for dinner with our BBQ meats, we usually have some salads and bread and then it on to some dessert if you can fit it in,

Overall the day is a lot of fun, it is a great catch up with lots of friends, and even though we are absolutely terrible at cricket it makes for a great laugh, I think today's top laugh this year would have to go to one of our friends who hit the wicket knocking the bails off before hitting the actual ball, he took himself out, but thankfully it was his last ball of the over so the next batter could walk in,

How do you usually celebrate Australia Day my fellow Walkerz? and if you are not from Australia how do you like to celebrate your nation's special day?

Let's all share and have some fun discussion, if you have been following the blog for a while now or even if you are new here, we are just all about having fun and informative conversations with each other, it is about getting to know each other and creating some fun friendship, it doesn't have to be anything hard, just drop in and say hi and we can go from there,

That is Wilz for now, travel safely Walkerz, take care and let's keep walking on this journey called life, peace out
